Birthed from the work of the Black L.U.V. Festival, Social Art and Culture [SAAC] was founded in 2009 on the principle of using the arts to bring awareness of the challenges (and successes) of being an artisan in the DC metro area who understands social responsibility. SAAC has worked with numerous organizations on a variety of projects that have earned many honors. Social Art and Culture is a 501c (3) located in Historic Anacostia in Washington, DC.

Features 7 Black, Hispanic, and Asian American DC Metropolitan artisans and 2 National Artists in Soul, Reggae, Salsa, Folk, Blues, Jazz, Hip Hop and Gospel and 5 Activists focused on Civil, Environmental and Social Justice.
